When looking at protein content (or any other nutritional attribute) its very important to look at the serving size. The callout stating 22g of protein is per 100g serving, and is used as an easy comparison to other similar products which usually indicate protein based on the same serving size. On the nutritional facts table on the product box, the regulated serving size for pasta on food labels is 85g in Canada and 56g in the USA, and all nutritional attributes have to be shown according to these serving sizes. The protein content (and other attributes) will therefore be lower on food labels based on these smaller serving sizes.
